About Coorg

Madikeri (English: Mercara) is the headquarters of Kodagu. The district is bordered by Dakshina Kannada district to the northwest, Hassan district to the north, Mysore district to the east, Kannur district of Kerala to the southwest, and the Wayanad district of Kerala to the south.

Coorg (Kodagu) is a mountaineous district located in south of India, know for its beautiful scenery and hospitable people. Glorious sounds, sights and scents welcome you as you enter Coorg. Wild fowl dash from your path, snakes slither across the way in a flash and the elephant has his eye on you. All of a sudden, the forests open up to acres upon acres of lush, green coffee plants and carefully manicured hedges.

The road continues to wind up the hills,providing you with brief glances at the paddy fields nestled in the valleys that are abundant with trees. About Coorg

Coorg or Kodagu as it is officially known now, is an astonishing land in the heart of the southern Indian peninsula. This unspoilt "country of million hills", situated on the slopes of the Western Ghats, is India’s coffee bowl. The tiny district in the state of Karnataka is the biggest producer of coffee.
